NoPalm Ingredients featured on FoodBev Media

“Just like you can brew beer with yeasts you can also ‘brew’ oils with oleaginous yeasts, through a fermentation process.”

- Jeroen Hugenholtz, NoPalm Ingredients CTO & co-founder

We proudly stand featured in the renowned FoodBev magazine! The UK-based media platform serves as a prime source for worldwide latest food trends and innovations within the food sector, uniting industry visionaries.

In the latest issue, the spotlight shines on NoPalm Ingredients, positioning our pioneering work and products alongside a constellation of ingenious food and beverage trailblazers. These visionary creators employ AI, drones, and 3D-printing to sculpt what the title aptly calls "the food of tomorrow." We are truly honored to see our precious oils and fats placed among the most noteworthy food innovations with a potential to feed a growing world population under increasing environmental challenges.

While our spot between companies using such “cutting-edge technologies” might make us look like a ‘high-tech’ company ourselves, we agree that the tunability of our oils and fats to perfectly match the needs of our clients is the result of careful operations basing on years of research to unlock the potential of fermentation. Yet we always like to emphasize the simplicity that characterizes our process: “just like you can brew beer with yeasts you can also ‘brew’ oils with oleaginous yeasts, through a fermentation process” explains our CTO and co-founder Jeroen. Our strategy is to refrain from genetically modifying our yeast strains and to deeply streamline our production process in order to reach cost-competitiveness with palm oil and other vegetable oils. This is our way to harness the potential of science coupled with the right technology to find impactful solutions to current and arising global challenges – like reducing food waste and saving natural resources.
